We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Engineer on a permanent basis for a fast growing business based in the Gloucester/ Cheltenham area.

Skills/Requirements for the Cyber Security Engineer

• Lead and develop the Cyber Security function.
• Working daily with the IT Support and Compliance teams, improving and enhancing security.
• Accountable for implementing and operating security tools and processes across the business platforms
• Improve monitoring and alerting systems with continued focus on the upkeep and performance of security data points located across the technology platform.
• Provide industry knowledge relating to cyber security for corporate systems, technical systems and data.
• Enhance and shape the outsourced Security Operations Centre including their monitoring and reporting capabilities. Work with the SOC Analysts in developing use cases to improve detective control gaps.
• Play an active part in new software or infrastructure adoption (secure by design), ensuring that they are secure and robust from internal and external threats.

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for:

• Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships, across hierarchies and teams within a demanding environment and complex with competing demands.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure that can assist in the improvement of cyber security (Citrix, o365, Win Server, VMware, Dell EMC & PowerEdge).
• Experience in providing subject matter expertise to projects by identifying and assessing gaps in security controls.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management and data loss prevention tooling.
• Strong knowledge and experience in both Cloud and on-premise security best practices.
• Experience in advising best practices to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, which are at various levels of seniority.
• Experience in conducting and reviewing security audits both internally and externally (suppliers and client).
